In Pictures: Maidenhead Christmas Lights – 23 November 2014

Although I missed the fireworks at last night’s grand Christmas Lights switch-on, I could easily hear them from the nearby Magnet Leisure Centre. Soon afterwards, I walked into the town centre and was pleased to see that there was still a busyness on the High Street (in past years, the final rockets have been taken as the cue for everyone to leave pronto). As well as the usual fairground rides on St Ives Road, temporary stalls along Queen Street were trading jewellery, books, and toys. Photographs from the night can be found on the Advertiser‘s website.

Armed with my own camera, I took another look at the Christmas lights this (Sunday) evening. My photographs can be found below.

  1. Corrections and Clarifications
An earlier version of this post stated that, in past years, “the final rockets have been taken as the queue for everyone to leave pronto”. This should, of course, have read “the final rockets have been taken as the cue for everyone to leave pronto”. I am happy to make this correction, and thank Phil Bray for bringing it to my attention.
