Christmas Cake Icing – 23 December 2013
You may remember my post last month, containing the recipe instructions for a great Christmas cake. It prompted quite a positive reaction, so here now are photographs of the rather more straightforward (although much more delicate) task of icing that cake.
- Mixing the ingredients and colouring for the royal icing.
- The first letters are drawn on the pre-iced Christmas cakes.
- Icing sugar decorates every border of these Christmas cakes.
- Dad found getting all the icing out of the piping tools to be something of a squeeze.
- A Father Christmas character sitting beside a Christmas tree, atop our cake.
- Both cakes turned out well – we’d made two, so we can have one and Matthew can have the other to take home.
