This morning, my Dad and I had to pop into town to buy some food from Waitrose and get our hairs cut. It was snowing as we made our way there, but continued to get heavier and heavier over the next couple of hours.
On what should have been one of the three busiest weekends of the retail year, there was nothing: a middle-aged, brave couple; a jolly Christmas postman; but really, that was it.
