Carrying in the abundance of stuff from your dad’s car; making up a bed for, likely, the first time in your life; and setting up your devices on the campus Wi-Fi. All are difficult yet essential parts of Day One at university.
But first and foremost of all is, surely, the fridge-shelf landgrab.
She once asked Stuart, her ‘Minister for Fabulousness’, for ideas for their upcoming stewardship campaign. He suggested making up a T-shirt, with the message: ‘This s**t ain’t free’.

Seeing this year’s leavers, who last year were in the Year 5 classes I assisted, was my reward for doing this fun, end-of-term film at Furze Platt Junior School.
