Dead Mouse Sanis, Anyone? – 27 September 2010

Mouse in bread

Well, would you look at that. Yes, dear, it is what it seems; a dead mouse literally embedded into a loaf of bread. Appetising, isn’t it?

The mouse was found in a loaf of Hovis Bread in January 2009, by Stephen Forse of Oxfordshire. Hovis’ parent company (Premiere Foods) was fined £16,821.14 at Oxford Crown Court. You do wonder if the 14p was really justified, though…

In July, they admitted to failing to maintain acceptable standards at its London factory.

It makes you think about your toast though. It’s food for thought. Still, anyone for a sandwich?
