Carol Singing with Church – 14 December 2009

After another busy day at school; I headed home to set up an Ad Hoc connection. It’s a bit geeky, but highly useful for the sort of thing that I want to do between my laptop and iPod.

Later, I was given a lift to church for the second of our Carol Singing in the Parish nights. This gave us an opportunity to ‘spread the true message of Christmas’, and to collect for the Children’s Society. The reactions received from different households continues to amaze me, even after five or six years of collecting. Many are generous; some – despite swanky laptops, iPhones, and Christmas Lights – claim that they are skint or just don’t celebrate Christmas.

But, overall, it’s worth it; even if we just bring a smile to someone’s face…
